A brand is a collection of perceptions in the mind of a consumer.
In the context of the top 3 Brand ads of the BrandBowl, I was thinking what are the most important ‘ingredients’ of the Super Brands. Regarding that lot’s of brands have almost turned into modern ideologies, it’s essential to understand the best practices to make your brand one of those.
As I have a secret folder called ‘Bring me inspiration’, I searched it and was inspired to find something valuable and helpful which I have downloaded some time ago. That’s how I came across to one of the best presentations (I have ever seen) on Branding created by Kyle Lacy – a marketing expert who is sharing his professional thoughts at http://kylelacy.com/.
Kyle Lacy highlights in his topical presentation that brands are an interrelation between ‘interaction’ and ‘feelings’. Hence, I totally agree with his statement that brands are born of experience with its consumers.
It’s great to see his presentation on branding. It’s an effective way to remind us what is valuable when building a brand. I consider it will inspire you how to navigate the perception of your brand. And who knows… your brand may be praised by BrandBowl 2012.

Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it. Remember that the most important advocate of your brand… whether personal or business… is the people who interact with it on a daily basis.

I believe we stick to those brands which cause some sort of feeling in us. I buy Apple products because every time you unbox one it’s a completely awesome experience. I don’t fly with a certain flight company (and talk badly of it every time I have the chance) ’cause when I had a refund problem with it I had to wait 13 months with them accusing me of being a liar.
Feelings can be bad too, and when a brand screws up enough to cause a bad emotional moment, that’s when problems arise.

When my boyfriend buys an Apple product, he is just in heaven :D
Great comment as usual, Gabriele! Brand experience can be both terrific or terrifying. It all depends on the company after all :)
I need access to that secret inspiration folder :)
